Austin Grandstaff greatly enjoyed his latest visit to the Ohio State Buckeyes, and it seems that his idolizing of point guard Aaron Craft had a bit to do with his latest commitment.

“I just loved the people there,” Grandstaff told Eleven Warriors. “The relationships are great.”

His father had a bit more to say about the relationship to Craft though.

“Austin likes watching Craft play,” Wes Grandstaff said to Eleven Warriors in February. “They were at the LeBron James Camp together, this year, and we enjoyed watching him play over the last few years.”

Much thanks to Eleven Warriors on their piece which you can check out below, and you can bet that the Buckeyes will be in the mix for the regular season conference championship next year.

Thad Matta has not had the best luck in the last few postseasons, but he continues to deliver high quality prospects on the recruiting front. Whether the head coach can deliver another Big Ten title still remains to be seen, but he seems to have bought himself a bit more time. Long gone are the days that point guard Mike Conley Jr. and center Greg Oden were Buckeyes, and Matta will have to deliver some solid results in the next couple seasons in order to call his tenure there a success.

Maybe Grandstaff can become Matta’s next crafty shooting guard.
