Duke Blue Devils Commit Tyus Jones Invited to 2014 USA U-18 National Team Training Camp
Tyus Jones already has some international experience, and he could get even more this summer. The point guard was invited to team USA’s U-18 training camp, but this time around future teammate Jahlil Okafor will not get to be there.
It will be interesting to see if Jones joins the camp, or if the point guard decides to get some early work in at Durham. Duke Blue Devil fans who are not familiar with Jones’ game will end up being pleasantly surprised; many analysts have said that the former Apple Valley (MN) point guard will be a better college player than a pro one, although I think that this young man has quite a solid work ethic: that ends up going a long way in pro basketball.

One player who I believe will be on the Team US U-18 squad is Stanley Johnson. His future head coach Sean Miller will be an assistant coach on the team this summer, and it would not surprise me to see them use the time to build chemistry. The Arizona Wildcats lost Nick Johnson and Aaron Gordon after last year’s successful campaign, and so chemistry between the head coach and his newest superstar will be of the utmost importance. There will be more on that situation later today, and in the meantime, we will hit you with a couple bonus articles.
