The invitees for the USA team’s U-18 training camp were announced recently, and one of the key contributors will likely be Myles Turner.

That is because of the absence of names like Cliff Alexander and Jahlil Okafor due to age. This team will be just fine when it comes to guard-play, but it will be the big men who are key to a gold medal run this summer. It should be interesting to see who ends up going to training camp, and you can bet it is something we will keep an eye on here at Rant Sports Prep.

Turner has had his health issues in the past, but this summer could be a nice springboard for a good freshman season with the Texas Longhorns. One of the key match ups to keep an eye on next season will be when the Longhorns face the Kentucky Wildcats, and the only thing that remains to be seen for that game will be whether John Calipari is still the coach. LaLa Land here he comes!

Turner gets compared to Kevin Durant at times, which is not quite fair. However the big man does have some similarities to this year’s MVP, and that must be quite nice to hear for a young player.

Prep has one more piece on the way today, and then also be sure to check out pieces on our pro football page about Johnny Manziel and Sammy Watkins. It was a fun draft, and it should be an even more fun year of football. Thanks as always.
