Iowa State Cyclones Add Greek Big Man Georgios Tsalmpouris to Combat Cliff Alexander
The Iowa State Cyclones are apparently not blind to the competition they will be facing in the Big 12 next season, and they have added another big man to their 2014 class as a result.
7-foot-1 center Georgios Tsalmpouris is from Greece, and he is also a lefty. He will give the Cyclones quite a nice presence with his low post defense, and at the very least he can take up a couple of fouls.
Addition of Georgios Tsalmpouris could help Cyclones in a conference that just added Myles Turner and Cliff Alexander http://t.co/4FsXu50c0f

The Cyclones have been fighting for more national attention as of late, and it should be fun to see if they can form a challenge to the Jayhawks next season. My money is still on Bill Self’s squad to win the conference though, and for Turner to make a run at conference player of the year.
The Cyclones, meanwhile, should put together a decent enough season to get to the NCAA tournament, but their Greek center might find the American basketball spoltlight to burn just a little bit brighter than it did in his home country.
