2016 Blue Chip Recruit Recruit Harry Giles III Returns From Injury to EYBL
My main man Jason Jordan over at USA TODAY had an update recently on Harry Giles III, and I just thought you all should be made aware. Giles still has not made a commitment yet, but he is one the top players in the 2016 college basketball recruiting class. He blogs occasionally for USA TODAY, and the most recent update concerned a lot of the top level coaches in the country.
“Like I said before, they’ve cleared me to play and work out hard, so we’re all good there,” wrote Giles on his USA TODAY Sports blog on May 9th. “But I’m going hard trying to get my knee stronger and getting my wind up. I don’t really have a date that I am looking at coming back. It’s really about how I feel. I’m just taking it day-by-day going hard in my workouts. In the last month Coach (Roy) Williams, Coach K (Mike Krzyzewski), Coach (John) Calipari and Coach (Danny) Manning have all been to my workouts at my school.”
He has now apparently been cleared to play in EYBL games as well, because we should be seeing the top 2015 recruit back on the hardwood by this weekend.
Expect for Giles to end up at a top tier program, and when he gets to college he will be one of the most closely watched recruits by pro scouts all around the country. The pre-draft scouting combine is currently happening in Chicago, and Julius Randle is probably the top recruit who showed up for all of those proceedings.
We might be seeing Giles at that combine some time in the near future.
