Dante Exum Would Be Open to Other Teams than the Los Angeles Lakers

Agent Rob Pelinka is probably the main reason that a lot of folks think that star Australian point guard Dante Exum is destined to join the Los Angeles Lakers. That is because Pelinka is also the agent of another Laker who you might have heard of before.

Kobe Bryant.

“It is a thing that the media twisted from what I said,” Exum said to Sporting News. “Obviously, the Lakers are a great organization. But I am in this draft to go to a place where I feel best at, that is a good fit for me and whatever that team is, is the best place for me. There is no one place I want to go to.”

I think there is, but Exum is still wise to appear to be playing the field just in case things do not shake out predictably. My money is still on the Lakers to land Exum, but that is also assuming that Kevin Love is not moved to LaLa Land in a trade.

Exum will most likely get picked in the top five to seven, and I checked out an interview with him at the combine in Chicago. I was not able to get out there this year, but I don’t feel that bad because Jabari Parker decided to skip out on it as well.

So it couldn’t have been that big a deal, right?

Just kidding for any ballers who went out there to try to get their stock up. For all but the top three picks, going to the combine is a no-brainer. You miss all of the shots that you don’t take.
