When I say that a freshman is going to flounder during their first year of college basketball, what I mean is that they will probably not meet oversized expectations. Some of the recruits on this list will have trouble due to circumstances beyond their control, because you never know how quickly your season is going to end. Without any further ado, here are five freshman who might struggle in college basketball next season.

5. Kaleb Joseph- G Syracuse

Kaleb Joseph has some big shoes to fill, because last season Tyler Ennis set a precedent for freshman to have success right away. Joseph will have to perform quite well in order to win over the Syracuse Orange fans, but it could be within his capabilities.

4. Theo Pinson- SF North Carolina

Pinson could suffer from oversized expectations, because the North Carolina faithful do not mess around. They will expect him to be the second coming of Harrison Barnes, and that might be too much to ask for. Some fans also seem to forget that Barnes struggled in the early part of his freshman campaign.

3. Myles Turner- C Texas Longhorns

The only reason I put Turner on this list is because of Rick Barnes' coaching history. It would not surprise me to see Turner get misused in the offense, and that might lead him to turning professional after just one year. It would be the exact same path that Kevin Durant, his idol, took to the NBA.

2. Brandon Francis- G Florida

Kasey Hill decided to stay in school, which will make it tough for Brandon Francis to get quality minutes. Billy Donovan did a fantastic job last season, and it was the way that he had his younger players buying into defense that impressed me the most. The Florida Gators head coach might struggle to get the same production out of this year's recruiting class.

1. Craig Victor- F Arizona

Craig Victor will have trouble seeing the court for the Arizona Wildcats, because of a freshman named Stanley Johnson. Victor will still get some minutes throughout their Pac-12 battles, but I would be surprised if he is in the starting lineup to begin the season.
