John Calipari is in a good spot. All of the pundits who are claiming that he will make a jump to the NBA are crazy. Why would he leave his situation with the Kentucky Wildcats? He routinely has all of the best talent within his chosen field. Some of his future players are suiting up for the McDonald’s All-American game this week, but one of them thinks quite highly of himself when it comes to a potential one-on-one tournament among the players.

“Well, since I’m not in it,” said Wildcats commit Isaiah Briscoe to USA TODAY Sports. “I would have to say it’s up for grabs between Malik Newman, Dwayne Bacon, Antonio Blakeney and probably Ben Simmons. Then again, Allonzo Trier got somethin’ with him and Jaylen Brown too. Wait, why can’t I play? I’m winning that, NO doubt!”

Calipari is currently preparing his team to win another national title after going 38-0 so far this season. Is 40 wins possible for the Wildcats? Of course, but they will still have to play two more quality opponents. I think Jahlil Okafor and his Duke Blue Devils are the only team with the capability to beat Kentucky, and here is hoping that we see that matchup in the season’s final game. Duke has enough talent on offense to keep up with the Wildcats, and Okafor has been giving a lot more effort on the defensive end.

It should be a great weekend of basketball in Indianapolis. Regardless of the outcome, Calipari will always have a dominant amount of talent for as long as he stays in Lexington. The only question that remains: will he be satisfied with his Big Blue kingdom? Briscoe is one of the players with enough confidence to keep the head coach in town, and the prospect should join the team next season with a world of confidence.
