Smackdown is no Match for RAW

Let’s face it, right now Smackdown is becoming hard to watch. Since the departure of the Undertaker Smackdown has had a real issue filling the championship caliber hole. There are four real candidates for the World Heavyweight Title on any given night of Smackdown. They have Randy Orton, Christian, Mark Henry and Sheamus. Barrett, Bryan and Rhodes are the next generation of Champions for this show but they aren’t quite ready yet. Assuming they are still on this show after the next Mania. Those four are Smackdown’s everyday contenders for the belt and that’s not good enough. That is a pretty weak list, especially when you compare it to RAW’s contenders.

Sure there are a couple guys out on “injury” leave right now but here is RAW’s list of WWE Championship contenders. CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, John Cena, Big Show and Rey Mysterio. Now what wrestlers would you rather watch compete? Not to mention RAW has as much talent in the midcard as Smackdown does.

The WWE needs to do a much better job of spreading out the talent between the two shows. Unless the Undertaker is coming back soon Smackdown is missing a lot of talent right now and the show quality is not good enough. I much preferred the old days when anyone could go on any show. The match quality was a thousand times better. I can only hope the WWE will eventually go back to having all superstars on both shows. Until that happens or some kind of realignment I will probably still be bored by the low quality show Smackdown is putting out.
