Rumor: Details About Brock Lesnar’s Contract with the WWE
Mark J. Reblias-US PRESSWIRE

Is everyone still on that Brock Lesnar high from last night? Well, if this report is true, expect to stay high a lot more often. Internet wrestling rumor sites are a dime a dozen, so it’s hard to really tell what reports are true and what reports are false. But for the sake of optimism, I hope the report linked above is 100 percent accurate.

According to the report, Lesnar has signed a one-year deal with the WWE that will have him working all the way up to Wrestlemania 29 in New York. That’s fine and dandy and everything, but to me that sounds like a Dwayne Johnson type contract. Come back, get some momentum and excitement, and disappear until The Road of Wrestlemania picks up steam. However, it’s reported we will see Lesnar a lot more than originally thought. Here’s a direct quote from the article:

Lesnar has signed on for a minimum of two appearances per month over the next year plus additional appearances during the build to WrestleMania 29. The belief is that Lesnar will make around 30-35 appearances over the next year but WWE likely has the ability to negotiate additional appearances, if he’s willing to make them.

As Chris Tucker says in Rush Hour when the money is falling from the skies – Thank you, God. A whole year of Brock Lesnar!? Yes, it’s not a full year per say, but 30-35 appearances is at least two thirds of a year. Also, this allows the WWE to utilize Lesnar to the fullest. They don’t have to book a Wrestlemania 29 main event a year in advance like they had to with The Rock. It allows the WWE to build up feuds with all their top superstars. After last night’s return, it’s clear that we will see something involving Lesnar-Cena. If you missed the video of the return, you can see Lesnar mouthing “I’ve been waiting a long ass time for this” after he F-5′d Cena.

Cena-Lesnar builds itself. The pair entered the WWE around the same time, and were supposed to be the company’s two young superstars for years to come. We can expect that match at Summerslam, I find.

That leaves plenty of possibilities at Wrestlemania 29 for Lesnar. We know all about the confrontation Lesnar had with Undertaker at a UFC pay-per-view a few years back. And nothing makes Wrestlemania the spectacle that it is quite like an Undertaker match. And last but not least, the rumored Rock vs. Brock match is a possibility as well.

The two had a small feud when Brock was rising to the top, while the Rock was phrasing himself out of the WWE. But the stage and hype that will come with a match now will be a huge draw for the WWE.

Wrestlemania 29. Let’s get it done, Vince.
