I told you that Paul Heyman was going to shock the WWE world. He returned Monday to announce that Brock Lesnar has quit the company and he will not return to wrestle again. Of course, this is more likely a storyline than factual, but it still makes for compelling television.
As I’ve grown older, I have grown to appreciate the business more. It really is a long soap opera. It changes week to week and it has good times and bad times. It has been on some bad times after coming off a great pay per view, but the addition of Heyman plus Lesnar quitting makes it more realistic.
Of course, Lesnar is going to shock the world and come back to destroy someone. If you haven’t figured that out, you need to watch more pro wrestling. Lesnar will be back and he will be angry. I will love it and so will the fans. Lesnar can have that effect on anyone. We love watching him. He is the most real character in the company.
I am excited to see how things will unfold over the next few weeks. Rant Sports is your one stop shop for all sorts of reaction to news happening in the pro wrestling world. Trust me, the return of Heyman will bring a lot of reaction. The quitting of Brock Lesnar will also be a big discussion topic.
If the company does this right, it will get huge ratings and the company will continue its momentum. Is that likely? No way. It’s the WWE. Name the last time they pulled off a successful angle without screwing it up. I, for the life of me, have no idea when it happened.
