The world of the WWE is often a confusing one. On Monday Night’s edition of Raw, Paul Wight, best known as the Big Show, was “fired” by Raw GM John Laurinatis. The firing is no doubt a work, but it is needed to give Show some time off and it gives Laurinatis another reason to be hated.
Big Show has been in the business for a long time and his time will not end like this. Expect him to get about three months off and then return for one or two last runs. He is one of the last remaining members of the old guard in the business. He needs his time off before he gets his one last run.
See, I like this move. Big Show has grown stale as a face. He needs to return as a heel of some sort. Monster wrestlers never work well as faces. It is much easier to have them be the heel against a babyface who overcomes the odds.
I imagine that this will also be good for the Big Show. There is nothing wrong with a couple months off when you reach his age. This allows him to heal up some probably nagging injuries and recharge his batteries and character. When he’s on, he is surprisingly good for being so big.
I expect that he will return and have a good one to two month run at the top again. That is all he can muster before this character runs stale. See you soon Big Show.
