Despite rumors that the relationship between Brock Lesnar and WWE has soured over the past month, after Lesnar made an appearance at UFC 146, plans are still on for Lesnar to take on Triple H at Summerslam.
According to F4WOnline.com, the plans call for Lesnar to face HHH with Vince McMahon in his corner, and John Laurinaitis in Lesnar’s corner. The scenario calls for John Cena to win at No Way Out, resulting in Laurinaitis getting fired, and then getting rehired by the Board of Directors.
So it will basically be the heel combination of Lesnar and Laurinatis against the faces (of the company) HHH and Vince. Blending the personal rivalry of HHH and Lesnar, along with Lesnar and Johnny Ace against the WWE.
This is definitely the right call, the more they can blur the lines between the real life tension between Lesnar and WWE, the better.
My only problem with this scenario, is where will Paul Heyman fit in? Or does he fit in at all?
I suppose there isn’t any reason that Heyman and Laurinaitis couldn’t both be in Lesnar’s corner, but if you have to choose one, based on talent, clearly Heyman is the man for the job. That however won’t happen, Laurinaitis will be involved.
I could see a scenario where Heyman acts as Lesnar’s manager, with Johnny Ace just kind of over seeing everything. There would be nothing wrong with a small stable consisting of the three of them.
The more they can keep the mic out of Lesnar’s hands, and into the hands of Heyman, the better off they will be.
