Will we see the WWE Unified World Tag Team Championships defended tonight?
Just minutes ago on Twitter, one half of the Primetime Players, Titus O’Neal, just tweeted the following
By the way this tweet sounds, it sounds as if we will see the WWE Unified World Tag Team Championships on the line on tonight’s Raw, as The Primetime Players, who are the number one contenders for the titles, will face off against the world tag team champions, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth.
Last night at the WWE Money In The Bank 2012 PPV, The Primetime Players were in a match against the former tag team champions, Epico and Primo (with Rosa Mendez). Even though The Primetime Players lost the match, their manager Abraham Washington made it a point to remind the live and viewing audience that The Primetime Players were still the #1 contenders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. And it looks like that it is a strong possibility that this may all occur tonight.
The Primetime Players became the #1 contenders for the titles back at the “No Way Out” 2012 pay per view on June 17th 2012. They defeated Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd, Primo and Epico and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) in a fatal four way match.
With the Raw 1000th episode occurring next Monday night on July 23rd 2012, this would be a momentum boost for the Primetime Players to be able to capture the Unified World Tag Team Championships on episode 999 and enter into the 1000th as the champs. However, on the other side, Kofi and Truth have held those titles proudly for quite sometime, and next week would be an ideal time to march into the 1000th episode, having a victory under your belt showing that yo successfully defended the belts a week ago.
Only time will tell where we stand with this issue. Tune into Raw tonight on USA Network at 9pm EST/ 8pm CST.
