CM Punk: Dark Future Looks Very Bright
This latest edition of Monday Night Raw really was the illustration of CM Punk‘s new character path as the WWE Champion. Many people on the Internet are not in much of an agreement of the fact that the WWE Champion, was facing a 62 year old man, in Jerry “The King” Lawler. That this mini program that Punk is going through is a below what Punk should be involved with, but on the contrary to it, this is just what the doctor ordered.
On the 1000th edition of Monday Night Raw, back at the end of July, the epic show concluded with CM Punk attacking The Rock as the show went off the air. Even though the action caused a mixed response from the crowd, I was still very skeptical if whether or not this man was a full on heel.
The next Raw pointed the theory correct, since the average WWE audience has a memory span of 2-3 days, needless to say, CM Punk comes out to a rain of cheers. How do we break this unexpected reaction? Go up against the WWE’s most beloved and well respected, all time figure, in Jerry “The King” Lawler.
Lawler has a certain connection with the audience where kids love him and adults appreciate him since he’s old school. This is the reason why Punk had to attack Lawler. You can beat up on John Cena night and day and the temperature will not raise nor will it drop, but Jerry Lawler triggers an emotion that is embedded into all wrestling fans and both WWE and CM Punk made an example out of it. The new era of Punk is here. I feel the best is yet to come.
Enjoy the ride!
