Cody Rhodes May Be Down, But Dont Count Team Ziggler Out
We are 3 days away from WWE’s annual Thanksgiving classic show, The Survivor Series. And just like in some past survivor series shows, we are seeing much change in the main event “Traditional” Survivor Series match. This match has had quiet a few makeovers and the latest one, hopefully will be the last. Earlier this week, we learned that Cody Rhodes (one half of the tag team the Rhodes Scholars with Damien Sandow) is going to be out of the main event tag match, due to a severe injury that he sustained that will require surgery. The question on everyone’s mind is, who will take Cody’s prime spot on Team Ziggler this Sunday? We received our answer. Cody will be replaced by Tensai.
As I’ve been thinking about it, this match reminds me s bit of the 1993 WWF Survivor Series Main Event. The All-Americans (Lex Lugar, The Undertaker and The Steiner Brothers) vs The Foreign Fanatics (Yokozuna, Ludwig Borga, Jacques from the Quebeccers and Crush). Because when the match was first announced Tatanka was in Taker’s spot (before being “taken out” by Borga) and Pierre from the Quebeccers was in Crush’s spot. And going into the PPV, the announcers would play up the match stating “The eliminations have started early”. Similar to this match, since it is completely different from when it first started.
Tensai can be a good addition to the match. I don’t see him as a loss. He bring together a full feel in terms of physicality to the match. And with Wade Barrett, Alberto Del Rio, Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler as his partners, Team Foley will have their hands full.
