Earlier today, WWE.com reported that WWE Champion CM Punk had to go in for emergency knee surgery steaming from an unknown sudden injury (thus the main reason why he was not in action last night on Monday Night Raw). We have just received word that now the WWE Championship match at this year’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs PPV on December 16th has been cancelled due to CM Punk’s emergency Surgery.

Originally the WWE Championship was going to be on the line as CM Punk was defending the title against Ryback in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Since the match has been cancelled, we will see Ryback in action on a different capacity. The match will now see Ryback team with Kane and Daniel Bryan to face Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (The Sheild) in a six-man match.

In the end segment of Monday night Raw last night, CM Punk was engaged in a lie detector test, given by The Miz, to gain clarity on his affiliation with Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. If the lie detector indicated that Punk was lying about his affiliation with them, then Paul Heyman would have to be in a one on one match with Ryback on the go home edition of Monday Night Raw next week. At the conclusion, The Shield attacked The Miz and saved Punk, but that was short lived as Kane and Daniel Bryan and later Ryback came out to even the odds. Their participation in this mele now makes sense.

This WWE Championship match cancellation is a tremendous loss to the PPV.
