Tonight at the WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay per view, the event opened up with Lillian Garcia asking the live attendance audience at the New Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, to stand at attention in silence as the WWE tolled the bell 26 times for the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre which took place this past friday morning in Newton, Connecticut.

Friday Morning, a 20-year old gun man open fire and viciously took the lives of 26 people, many of them being kindergarteners of the age of sic years old. This heinous moment has rocked the entire country as we have all been exposed to this horrific event that took place.

With the WWE being based in Stamford, CT, it is only fitting that the WWE would acknowledge this act and show sympathy for the victims.

I personally give the WWE much credit when they handle and acknowledge these situations the right way. Today many players of the NFL showed their support in acknowledgment the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Victor Cruz of the New York Giants wrote “S.H.E.S” on the back of his helmet in recognition. Last night, the Miami Heat acknowledged the victims as well, with each player bringing their kids on the court.

With the WWE being a more family friendly sports entertainment entity, it is safe to assume that there are true fans of the WWE who attend that school and look up to men like John Cena, Rey Mysterio and Sheamus. So with the WWE making the right acknowledgement in letting the victims, victims families and friends of the victims and survivors, know that they have their full support in getting through this, is the right thing to do. And done well.

Thank you WWE.
