Should The Rock Induct Mick Foley Into the WWE The Hall of Fame?
As announced earlier this month, it has been revealed that Mick Foley is the first inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2013.
Foley has been interviewed on the matter and has expressed interest that Jim Ross or Terry Funk should induct him into the Hall of Fame. Although there is one other name that WWE might choose that would bring more interest to this year’s Hall of Fame event.
The person I’m thinking about is The Rock. The Rock and Foley were not the closest of friends (either inside or outside the ring) but they both had a mutual respect for one another. Not to mention they formed the ever-popular Rock n Sock connection tag team back in 1999.
One reason The Rock should induct Foley is because it would generate more interest for this year’s Hall of Fame event. This year’s event is being held in Madison Square Garden, and both Foley and The Rock have a lot of history at that venue. After all, it was the site where Foley made his WWE debut back at the 1996 Survivor Series.
Ultimately, it’s up to Foley and he gets to choose who will induct him. My bet is that he will choose Funk because he was Foley’s mentor and the two of them have been real-life close friends for many years now.
Another humorous scenario could be if Foley inducts himself to the Hall of Fame as Mankind, Cactus Jack and Dude Love. The chances of this happening might be slim, but it would be an interesting sight to see.
