WWE’s Daniel Bryan Challenges Oakland A’s Josh Reddick?
It appears that one half of the WWE Unified World Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan is not the only one who is committed to their beard. Right fielder Josh Reddick of the Oakland A’s is letting his beard continue its steady growth.
So can these two men co-exist in the sports world while sporting some very aggressive facial hair? Apparently Daniel Bryan doesn’t think so.
Bryan, one half of “Team Hell No“, challenged Reddick to a “Beard Off” (or in this case a “Beard On”), to spend the rest of the year growing the beard and we will see who will have the most fullest and eye-opening beard at the end of 2013. The winner will be determined by an online vote from the fans, so yes, you will be the judge to see who comes out on top.
Reddick is a major WWE fan, so a challenge like this from one of the superstars that he watches every week is more than welcoming to him. Reddick has already started hearing a little bit of trash talking to Bryan, as he told the San Jose Mercury News:
“I’m already hearing trash talk from his fans, I know a bunch of the WWE guys, but I’ve never met him.”
It will be very interesting to see how Bryan will react to that statement. Bryan has been growing his beard since he won the World Heavyweight Championship at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2011 pay per view in December 2011.
Reddick, on the other hand, reported to FanFest in Oakland in January with a full beard that he’d started growing in November. Will the already preset advantage that Bryan has be in his favor, or will Reddick have an impressive showing in the latter part of 2013? We will see!
