When you think of names such as Mark Hamill, Carrie Fischer, Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones, you immediately think of the one commonality they share. Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 30-plus years, you would be able to instantly identify that these actors have all been a part of the iconic film Star Wars.

These actors have all been a part of a film franchise that has revolutionized sci-fi storytelling to levels beyond imagination, and one actor wants to add their name to the list. That actor would be, The Rock.

The Rock is currently in Australia for the Australian opening of his new film G.I. Joe: Retaliation. He mentioned how making G.I. Joe was a fulfillment of a boyhood dream, tracking back to the days when he would play with his action figures as a child.

“I played with two lines of action figures when I was a kid: G.I. Joe and Star Wars,” the wrestling icon stated. “By the way, because we didn’t have a lot of money, I used to steal them. I’d just rip open the packages and shove ’em in my pockets … like a lot of kids. I got caught a couple of times, got my (expletive) kicked by my parents.”

But with that being said, The Rock had one message for newly crowned director of the legendary franchise JJ Abrams:

“I’m ready for Star Wars. Bring it on, J.J.”

The Rock said of his recent role, “So when I got the call saying, ‘How do you feel about becoming the leader of the G.I. Joes?’, it was like if I got a call from George Lucas saying, ‘I want you to be in Star Wars’.”

“I’m gonna call J.J. and you’re gonna help by printing it and I’m gonna be in Star Wars!”

Can you imagine this? The Rock may officially be attaching his name to this dominating film franchise? If it already hasn’t happened, this will without question make The Rock the most successful wrestler/Hollywood actor in the history of mankind. I’m sure there isn’t any debate about this right now, but just in case there is a sliver of a doubt out there.

The Rock is worth a net worth of $70 million making him one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood today. The marriage between him being the instant box office draw and the highly anticipated 2015 release of JJ Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode 7 would result in astronomical numbers.

G.I Joe: Retaliation will debut its world wide release on March 28th 2013. The Rock will be defending The WWE Championship at WrestleMania 29 against John Cena (in the biggest WrestleMania rematch of all time) on April 7th. If 2013 produces a confirmation of The Rock and Star Wars, this will be the most mind blowing year for The Brahma Bull.
