Will John Cena Turn Heel At WrestleMania 29?
John Cena vs. the Rock at WrestleMania 29 is without a doubt one of the biggest rematches of all time. Will the landscape of the WWE change forever during this match’s conclusion?
Most fans disliked the thought of a rematch because many assumed it would have a very predictable result. With Rock winning their first encounter at WrestleMania 28, the likelihood of Cena winning the return match was obvious.
Now that Rock is the current WWE Champion, there’s no chance he can keep on to the belt much longer since he has to go film Hercules soon. Because of Rock’s Hollywood commitments, a Cena victory is all but confirmed already.
Cena winning the WWE Title for the 11th time will be a hard thing to stomach for some fans. Cena has been on the top of the WWE mountain for eight years now and him winning at WrestleMania 29 won’t make those fans cheer for him. In hindsight, fans are likely to boo him even more if he wins the title again.
However, fans’ anticipation for the match changed during the Q&A session both Cena and Rock had on Raw. Cena was not cheered by anyone in Philadelphia that day and his voice appeared to be more aggressive than usual. This might be a teaser for what should be a heel turn for Cena.
Cena turning into a bad guy is the only thing that will make fans tune into the product after WrestleMania 29. If he becomes WWE Champion again and is still a good guy, it will be the same thing fans have seen for the last eight years. Cena has not been a heel since 2003 and him becoming a bad guy again is way overdue.
