Yesterday, the WWE made a public announcement regarding a new partnership they have established with The Special Olympics Connecticut. The Special Olympics provides direct training and competitions for more than 15,000 athletes with special needs year round. Since both organizations advocate heath, fitness and social awareness without any off seasons, this partnership would be a perfect marriage between the two.

The WWE’s partnership deal will consist of a concentrated effort to raise awareness in addition to funds to The Special Olympics Connecticut.  The WWE will utilize their resources when it comes to live television, live events, digital and social media outlets. The WWE has a massive amount of resources to help assist with reaching out to the public and spreading the word of the benefits that are involved with supporting The Special Olympics.

This year’s 2013 Special Olympics games will be held at Southern Connecticut State University. This would be perfectly convenient since the headquarters of the WWE is in Stamford, CT. Since the games will be held so close to the headquarters, this will provide the Special Olympics with more than 700 on site WWE employees to help volunteer for the games either by working the events or in a coaching capacity.

This fall, the WWE had a very successful run with their partnership with the Susan G. Komen End Breast Cancer Foundation, by donating $1 million. The WWE drove a strong marketing campaign to help raise awareness to the WWE Universe of breast cancer via social media, video vignettes  merchandise and event set ups. The WWE’s contribution in working the Susan G. Komen Foundation was a complete success and the same should be expected with The Special Olympics.
