The Rock Vs John Cena WWE Championship match isn’t the only element of WrestleMania 29 that will be a repeat from last year. The WWE announced this week that the founder of Bad Boy Records and three time Grammy Award winner Sean “P. Diddy” Combs will perform a live performance.

With WrestleMania 29 being held at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, having Diddy on their main stage performing is a perfect fit. Last year at WrestleMania 28, Diddy introduced his artist Machine Gun Kelly to do the precursor of the introduction of John Cena. Nothing has been confirmed regarding what song selection that Diddy will do, but more than likely it will be “I’m Coming Home” performed by his, female duo artist “Diddy Dirty Money” and Skylar Grey. Since it can essentially tell the story of WrestleMania coming back to the New York area.

In addition to the performance, Diddy will also be serving as a WWE ambassador for the “WWE Be A Star Anti Bullying Imitative”. In addition, Diddy will co-host the “Superstars for Sandy Relief” party with WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon as a part of the week long WrestleMania festivities. In 2006, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley declared October 13th 2006 “Diddy Day” in honor of Combs’ charity work. Needless to say, Diddy is a perfect PR fit for these events.

However, there is some criticism when it comes to Diddy being a part of the festivities for WrestleMania. Some fans are not too thrilled with this announcement. They feel that a Diddy performance would infringed on some of the announced matches on the card. With 10 matches on the card to fit within 4 hours of program, it is possible that there will be a few short matches, and the concert performance will get substantial time. However, that all remains to be seen, this is a time for us as fans to sit back and enjoy what will entertain us all.
