WrestleMania 29: Card Ready; But Do Fans Accept?
The full card for WrestleMania 29 has been announced and has been booked. With the card only being a week away, the WWE has made a major step in the right direction in attempting to give us a card to care about. But do we really care for this card or are we so thirsty for a solid/packed WrestleMania card that we are willing to accept whatever is fed to us.
The current card has 10 matches announced, 4 of them being title matches (WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, Intercontinental Title and Tag Team Titles). The headlining main event is The Rock vs John Cena which will without any question be the closing match of the evening. But within the past week 4 matches were announced between Raw, Main Event and Smackdown.
Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show vs The Shield
Wade Barrett vs The Miz (IC title match)
Chris Jericho vs Fandango
Broadus Clay/Tensai and The Funkadactyls vs Team Rhodes Scholars and The Bella Twins
The WWE did drop the ball, in this sense, because if these 4 matches were announced much earlier than this week, the steam rolling behind WrestleMania 29 would’ve been more substantial. This past Smackdown would essentially be the “go home” Smackdown before WrestleMania since next weeks Smackdown is a clip show. So Raw and Main Event would be the last opportunities to set the WWE Universe on fire to make us hit the interactive button to order the show. The choice really is up to us how we perceive this card; however, comparing to some past WrestleMania’s what we have on this card is better than what we have seen. Now, the last piece of the puzzle is the execution, only time remains between now and then to see the result.
