WWE Cuts A WrestleMania 29 Match
It seems as if WWE knew it had too many matches booked for WrestleMania 29. Sadly, the company announced that one of the matches have now been booked for the WrestleMania pre-show.
The unfortunate match that has been relegated from the main show is the Intercontinental Title match between The Miz and Wade Barrett. This is a huge blow to both wrestlers who have worked hard all year to repackage themselves.
Miz has tried to become a different kind of wrestler by turning into a babyface. Not to mention, he starred in The Marine 3 movie to further increase his fan base. He also aligned with Ric Flair and started to use his figure-four leg-lock finisher to show his respects to the WWE Legend.
This is the second time in Miz’s career he’s been shafted from the main WrestleMania show. He wrestled in the pre-show back in 2009 after there was not enough time to schedule in his tag-team match. It seems more like a huge blow for Miz since he was in the main event of WrestleMania 27 just two years ago.
Barrett is also a wrestler that has worked hard over the years. Barrett got injured in 2012, and missed last year’s WrestleMania, but he came back and changed his look and character. The only WrestleMania event he competed in was at WrestleMania 27. But unlike Miz, Barrett’s match only lasted 90 seconds.
This is a bad decision in my opinion. If WWE were to get rid of one match at WrestleMania 29, it should have been the Brodus Clay, Tensai, Cameron and Naomi vs. Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and The Bella Twins match.
