There’s a good reason why The Undertaker is undefeated at WrestleMania. His match with CM Punk at WrestleMania 29 is proof that the man is still the most important wrestler in the company right now.
Most fans would agree that WrestleMania 29 wasn’t the best event of all time. The Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar match had a predictable outcome as did the main event with The Rock and John Cena. Not to mention, the other matches on the card were decent, but not instant classics by any stretch.
As for Undertaker vs. Punk, their match was without a doubt the best one of the entire night. I was skeptical of the quality of their match at first because both men were suffering from injuries. When the time came for the match itself, it appeared as if both men weren’t injured at all and delivered a highly entertaining contest.
Punk and Undertaker was the only match on the card that elicited a loud response from the crowd the entire time. Not even Rock and Cena were able to keep the fans entertained until the very end of their match.
One of the best moments in the Punk and Undertaker match was when Punk hit Undertaker with the urn. Many people thought this was the moment when “The Streak” was going to end. Another highlight of the match was when Undertaker was unfazed by Punk’s GTS finisher and delivered a Tombstone on Punk.
Undertaker has now had the best (or second best) match at WrestleMania for seven years straight now. Fans all over the world are hoping he’s healthy enough to go one more round at WrestleMania XXX. It would be a fitting end if he chooses to retire at the 30th edition of the biggest pro wrestling show on the planet.
