The Shield Getting Fourth Member

The Shield debuted as a three man wrecking team back in the WWE in November 2011. Is the team now ready to recruit a new member to their already destructive force?

Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins all came from NXT and made a huge impact at Survivor Series 2011 when they attacked both John Cena and Ryback.

It wasn’t until a month later did fans get to see them wrestle for the very first time. They competed in a very entertaining and exciting TLC match and WWE officials and fans alike were impressed by the effort all three men put into the match.

For four months now, The Shield has been receiving a very big push. They remain undefeated and it does not look like they will be going away anytime soon. It does not matter if the team consists of Cena, Ryback, Randy Orton or even The Undertaker. If you can name them, The Shield have beaten them all. They even took out The Rock at the Royal Rumble PPV.

Will it be a good idea to recruit another member to the team? In my opinion, The Shield is a great team on their own and they don’t need another member. However, if the fourth member is another up and coming star from NXT, this could be a good way for that young wrestler to get some decent exposure.

It was teased on Raw this week that Ryback could have been a fourth member of the team. I don’t think this would make any sense since The Shield have beaten up Ryback more times than I could count. Hopefully someone like Cena isn’t a member because that would take the spotlight off Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose entirely.

Let’s hope The Shield remains relevant throughout 2013 and does not fizzle out like The Nexus did. Hopefully they don’t become like the NWO either where a new member gets recruited every week…
