The Rock has been in the movie business full time for over a decade now. Sometimes actors lose their appeal but it appears there’s no stopping Rock and his current success.

2013 has already been a huge year for Rock as he’s already released three movies and two more are left to come. Looking at the amount of money his past three movies have made, it’s looking like he is still one of the most popular actors in Hollywood right now.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is obviously one of the most famous and well liked actors of all time. After he finished his term of being the Governor of California, Schwarzenegger made a commitment to full time acting once again.

His first main role in over a decade came in the form of a movie called The Last Stand. This movie was expected to make a lot of money since fans hadn’t seen him on the big screen in a long time. To everyone’s surprise, the movie bombed and only made $36 million worldwide.

Sylvester Stallone is another action hero that isn’t as popular now. His latest movie called Bullet to the Head fared worse and only made a pathetic $13 million at the box office.

Compare this to Rock’s latest movies and it shows that he’s the new action star that fans love to see. The first film for Rock in 2013 was Snitch. Even though this is Rock’s lowest grossing film this year, it still made over $42 million in North America. The film is set to open in more countries later this year that will add to the overall box office tally.

G.I Joe Retaliation has proved to be very popular too. Thanks to the addition of Rock and Bruce Willis, this sequel has earned over $350 million worldwide and counting. The movie out-grossed the original by over $50 million. Lastly, Pain and Gain just released last weekend in North America and topped the box office earning $20 million.

This goes to show that Rock’s popularity has now gone beyond only professional wrestling fans. Fans that have never watched wrestling before are now charmed by Rock’s charisma and screen presence. At this rate, it looks like his popularity isn’t going to decrease anytime soon either.
