When Will Christian Return To WWE?
Christian has been plagued with injuries for the past year. He’s actually been cleared to wrestle for several weeks now, but is currently waiting for WWE to put him into a storyline.
So far, it looks like the company is struggling to find or come up with any relevant storylines and opponents for Christian to work with. He was initially going to feud with Antonio Cesaro earlier this year for the US Title. That shipped has sailed since Cesaro lost the belt to Kofi Kingston back in April.
It’s said that WWE wants Christian to remain as a babyface so it’s likely he’ll go up against heel characters upon his return. With that being said, I’m not even sure whom he will face with most other wrestlers already booked in feuds with one another.
A match I would like to see happen in the future is for Dolph Ziggler to face Christian. Ziggler is the current World Heavyweight Champion and I’m sure these two will be able to put on great matches. With that being said, it’s unlikely WWE wants to push Christian in main events for much longer because of his age. He’s turning 40 years old later this year and it’s best they keep the belt on someone younger like Ziggler.
Christian could always be one of those guys that put over young talent. This is a role that Chris Jericho has been doing quite well for the past few years. Maybe Christian can fill Jericho’s role when Jericho decides to tour with his band Fozzy again?
