The nearly year-long feud between Brock Lesnar and Triple H has (hopefully) ended. Lesnar destroyed Triple H in their latest brutal bout at Extreme Rules.
The feud was ignited last year when Lesnar broke Triple H’s arm with the Kimura lock. Obviously, Triple H was unhappy about this and wanted revenge for Lesnar’s attack. The two then faced for the very first time at SummerSlam 2012.
Lesnar won that match and it appeared as if the feud was over. Triple H teased that this was his last ever match in the WWE.
Lesnar came back to the WWE earlier this year to defend his manager Paul Heyman. Vince McMahon was about to fire Heyman, but Lesnar F-5’d him and broke his hip. This angered Triple H and the two faced once again at WrestleMania 29. Triple H got his revenge and evened the score.
Lesnar and Heyman were not satisfied, and a steel cage match was sanctioned for Extreme Rules. Lesnar took things personally as he went to Triple H’s office and destroyed it. Triple H was angry and their match at Extreme Rules was going to get ugly.
The match at Extreme Rules was a brutal one and was arguably the best that the two have had so far. I was underwhelmed with their SummerSlam match and wasn’t too excited with the WrestleMania 29 match either. The steel cage setting at Extreme Rules made the match a bit more action packed. In the end, Lesnar knocked out Triple H with a sledgehammer and F-5’d him for the victory.
