After their grueling matches at the WWE‘s newest Pay Per View, Payback, many of the superstars were faced with matches on Monday Night Raw.

These matches featured Payback rivalries and some even saw beginnings of fresh rivalries. Tomorrow night, we will witness the new and continuing bouts that are leading us on the road to Money in the Bank. You can feel the tension building with all the excitement that we witnessed on Monday.

So now lets see what we have to look forward to as Friday rolls around:

(Warning: spoilers below)

Sheamus had a handicap match on Raw against tag team Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow that ended with a sneak attack into a pin by Sandow. He then did his famous Brogue Kick to Rhodes to end the segment. Just four nights later, he gets his revenge on Rhodes by making him tap via the Cloverleaf, but his victory is short-lived due to an attack by his nemesis, Sandow.

After losing his title in a Triple Threat and then being beat by the returning Christian, Wade Barrett faces the new Intercontinental Champion, Axel Curtis. This match is the third time these two have met with the same result. Axel has proven to be too much for the former bare-knuckle fighter. Will Barrett ever figure out how to win a bout against Paul Heyman’s newest client?

Everybody is searching for the old days of the Diva matches, where they were highly competitive and strong women competing. The newly crowned Diva’s Champion A.J. Lee will take on the talented and beautiful Natalya in a regular match. The WWE has yet to give Natalya any matches that she can really show how competitive she can be. This matchup proved to be too much for her as she fell to the Diva’s champion.

The new World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio takes on Chris Jericho in a one-on-one bout. This is a new matchup that has me excited to see all that they give to get the pinfall. This match ends in disqualification when Dolph Ziggler attacks Del Rio which is then followed by a CodeBreaker to the former champ. Triple Threat at Money in the Bank?

After his long-awaited return on Raw Christian is set to take on one third of 3MB, Drew McIntyre. As he did on Monday to Barrett, Christian picked up the win, but then something else happens. We have seen this with many of the well-respected superstars recently — the Shield enters the ring and Triple Powerbombs Christian after the match.

Welcome back to the WWE scene, Christian. Will this affect anything that has to do with the upcoming pay-per-view?

During a grueling No Disqualification match on Monday night, Daniel Bryan took a horrible crash into the barricade and was injured. The WWE announced that they didn’t know if he would be able to compete the following night as they taped Friday Night Smackdown. As everyone has most likely heard, he did compete in a match against The Viper, Randy Orton and won via countout. Will this rivalry carry on to Money in the Bank?
