Sting has been wrestling for decades now but has never worked for the WWE. Vince McMahon, however, is hopeful he will join them soon.

Sting wrestled for WCW for many years until it folded in 2001. He was initially going to join WWE back then and was set to wrestle Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 18. However, he decided not to join because he felt McMahon treated ex-WCW wrestlers poorly. A promo featuring The Rock mocking Booker T was enough for Sting to be scared away.

Sting wrestled for TNA since then, but has teased that he would love to face The Undertaker one day. Back in 2011, Sting’s contract with TNA expired and it was heavily rumored that he’d join the WWE. Many people believed the long-awaited Sting vs. Undertaker match would finally happen.

Alas, TNA convinced him to stay and the dream match never took place.

Now we are here in 2013 and Sting might be joining WWE soon. There has been no word on if Sting’s contract is expiring soon or not though. He is actually currently part of a huge storyline in TNA right now so it doesn’t look like he will be leaving the company anytime soon.

Another thing to note is that Sting is well over 50 years old now, so it’s unlikely he’ll be able to wrestle for WWE very long. TNA’s schedule is more manageable for a guy his age.

Lots of fans are hoping he could wrestle just one final time against Undertaker possibly at WrestleMania XXX. Not to mention, WWE is hoping to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame in the near future too.
