Did RVD Succeed In His WWE Return?
As most of you already know, Rob Van Dam (RVD) made this long awaited return to the WWE. Was his return met with a warm response or did he flop?
RVD has always been one of the most popular wrestlers in the modern era. Even when he was a heel back in 2001, the crowd still admired his athletic ability. This was even during the time when the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were wrestling on a regular basis.
When RVD returned at the Money in the Bank PPV, the crowd obviously welcomed him with open arms. It’s been six long years since he last wrestled for the WWE and fans have been patient for his return.
RVD did not disappoint as he was athletic and exciting as always. He may not have been as fast or agile as he was back when he was younger, but he can still entertain a crowd every time he steps inside the ring.
RVD even wrestled on Raw the next night and had an exciting match with Chris Jericho. Too bad these two wrestled for free on television because a match of this caliber would have been better suited for SummerSlam or WrestleMania. I guess Jericho requested to fight RVD before he tours with his band Fozzy for the remainder of 2013.
The question on everyone’s mind is where does RVD go from here? Who will he be facing at SummerSlam and is there any other wrestlers that can hang with him?
