Rob Van Dam In WWE

Rob Van Dam (RVD) made his triumphant return to the WWE last month. As popular as he is, the WWE has yet to make him feud with a specific person since coming back.

SummerSlam is just around the corner and is usually advertised as the second most important PPV of the year. Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena for the WWE Title has already been announced, as is CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar. Will RVD have a decent spot on the card?

When Chris Jericho wrestles part-time, he normally gets booked into meaningful feuds quickly. He wrestled against Punk and Randy Orton last year, while this year he’s feuded with Punk (again), Ryback and Fandango.

After RVD wrestled at Money in the Bank, he’s been wrestling a lot of matches, but hasn’t really been booked into a proper storyline. Too bad Jericho has left for the remainder of 2013 because a feud between these two would have been awesome.

RVD’s return mirrors that of Christian’s comeback from injury. Both men have been wrestling constantly over the past weeks, but haven’t actually been put into a storyline or meaningful feud.

It’s unfortunate that RVD is unlikely to fight for the WWE Title at this stage because he’s only wrestling part-time at the moment. Hopefully he can get booked like Lesnar and fight in main event spots whenever he arrives. That being said, Lesnar is a bigger name than RVD thanks to his UFC fame.

Hopefully by the time SummerSlam arrives, RVD will have been booked in a match with a decent enough opponent.
