The last time we saw the eighth wonder of the world, Andre the Giant was bodyslammed by Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III, and the landscape of wrestling was forever changed. Since the passing of Andre, the only way the fans can connect with him, is through video games.

WWE has historically had a very good presence in the video game world. Starting with games like No Mercy and Smackdown!, the gaming franchise has gone a long way through each generation of systems. The most recent time that Andre the Giant appeared in a WWE video game was in Smackdown vs. Raw 2006.

Seven years later, we might see it again. E-Wrestling is reporting that a teaser photo was brought forward that may show the Giant as a playable character in WWE 2k14.

“Several wrestling fans have found an image named “tease01.jpg” posted to the official WWE Games account. The image was reportedly a strap from Andre the Giant’s singlet, leading to speculation that the WWE Hall of Famer will be returning to the world of wrestling video games. The WWE 2K14 roster will be announced next weekend during their presentation at WWESummerSlam AXXESS.”

With this video game being billed as the “best ever” by WWE, adding Andre will be a huge update to the game. Fans are always complaining about the roster not being full enough, so with his addition, there is one less thing to whine about while playing.

Just to add some background information, 2K sports will be producing and creating the game this year. THQ was formerly the creator, but since their recent bankruptcy extravaganza, the notable developer will be taking a crack at its very first wrestling franchise.

Donning the cover is the Rock, and many features are rumored to be included along with many new match types. This time around though, you can do the Big Show vs. Andre the Giant at WrestleMania 29. It’s the dream match all fans want to see, and now you have a chance to make it virtual reality.
