The WWE is reportedly punishing Dolph Ziggler for some comments he made during the buildup for SummerSlam earlier this year.
It’s unknown at this stage the actual comment that got him in the company’s bad books, but it was bad enough for officials to punish him. Ziggler has been looking very weak for the past few weeks and even lost to Antonio Cesaro in an episode of Superstars.
Ziggler, however, has gone on record to speak his mind as of late. He mentioned prior to SummerSlam that he was cheering for Daniel Bryan to beat John Cena for the WWE Title. He feels Cena is a good champion, although he’s been on top of the ladder for far too long. Sadly though, Bryan’s time as WWE Champion came to a screaming halt when Randy Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
When Orton became champion, Ziggler again got frustrated since he’s similar to Cena as well. Both men have been champions over 10 times and were main event stars since 2004-2005. It’s been a long time since the company actually pushed someone new.
Ziggler was the World Heavyweight Champion briefly this year until he suffered a concussion. Because of the concussion, the company put the belt back on Alberto Del Rio, who has stayed champion ever since. It’s quite sad how Ziggler still remains a mid-card talent even though he’s been wrestling for many years already.
Hopefully Ziggler can bounce back to the main event scene sooner rather than later.
