Should Christian Retire Soon?
There’s no doubt that Christian is one of the hardest-working pro wrestlers out there. Too bad his injuries have piled up, keeping him out of action for months. Can his body handle the pressure much longer?
For the majority of 2012 and the first half of 2013, Christian was out from a shoulder injury. He’d been injured prior to that from a broken ankle, which made him miss two consecutive WrestleMania events in a row. Since WrestleMania is the biggest event of the entire year, this is the last thing a pro wrestler wants to happen.
Christian returned and competed in the Money in the Bank ladder match back in July. Despite this match having a lot of weapons, he looked pretty healthy and didn’t suffer another injury. It looked like Christian was back to his old self.
Christian then went on to become the no. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. He had to face Alberto Del Rio at SummerSlam. Even though he failed to capture the gold, the match itself was very good. Many fans loved how Christian was back on the main event scene.
Sadly, just a few weeks after SummerSlam, Christian suffered a concussion during a match he had with Randy Orton. Orton and Christian still managed to finish the match, although Christian is out from action once again.
A concussion isn’t too serious, so Christian might be back sooner rather than later. However, he’s now 40-years old, and wrestling full-time can take its toll. Is Christian ready to retire soon if the injuries keep on coming?
