Is John Cena Returning To WWE Too Early?

John Cena is coming back from injury just two months out of action. Is he coming back too soon?

Cena had been working with a torn triceps muscle and didn’t get surgery for it until this past August. He had been working through the injury for several weeks and specifically wanted to wrestle Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam before getting it fixed. It was initially expected he’d return in time for the Royal Rumble PPV in January, but doctors told him he’d be able to wrestle again in October. Still, is Cena wrestling too soon?

A part of me feels that Cena needs a long rest. Not only for himself, but for the viewing audience too. The last time Cena took extended time off was back in 2008. He was only gone for three months and was back to being his old self again.

Now Cena is 36-years old and needs to take it easy. He’s been in the WWE main event scene for eight years now. Not to mention, he does a lot of outside media work for the company too. Eventually Cena will need to rest as he might get more injuries keeping up a heavy schedule like this.

Another reason why I feel Cena should stay away from the business (for the time being) is to let other stars have a chance in the spotlight. It’s a little unfair that Cena returns from injury and already has a World Heavyweight Championship match against Alberto Del Rio. I would have preferred Dolph Ziggler or Cody Rhodes getting a chance to shine in the main events.

Cena has been champion far too many times over the past eight years or so. He’s already a huge star and doesn’t need another championship reign to solidify his status in the company.
