It appears the WWE is still punishing Dolph Ziggler. The main reason they’re doing this is because the man is being too honest.
Ziggler was finally getting the push he deserved earlier this year when he won the World Heavyweight Championship. It was a moment many wrestling fans loved as someone new was holding a belt. Sadly, this was to be short lived because he suffered a concussion and the belt quickly went back to Alberto Del Rio.
For several months, Ziggler was again a mid-card talent, and he voiced his opinions during interviews about his position in the company. He hated how he was only champion for one month while guys like Randy Orton and John Cena have been on top for over seven years now.
It appears Ziggler’s honesty and frustration in these interviews have angered WWE officials. It’s also been said that they don’t like the way he behaves himself backstage and has a bit of an “attitude”. This is the main reason why he hasn’t been booked in any meaningful feuds as of late.
It’s a bit unfortunate that the WWE isn’t pushing someone as talented as Ziggler. I’m not sure what the guy is like in real-life, but he’s really talented inside the ring and always puts on great matches. Hopefully by 2014 or so, the WWE could forgive him and give him another push. I for one am getting a little tired of seeing Cena and Orton wrestle in the main events all of the time. I’ve been watching both guys since they debuted back in 2002.
