We're all tired of John Cena, and Stone Cold Steve Austin left way too soon. Sounds like the perfect combination for a WrestleMania main event. Stone Cold is always rumored to be returning to the WWE at WrestleMania. Let's hope next year is Austin's year. Austin helped save professional wrestling and the WWE in 1998, at a time when WCW was cleaning house as the top promotion in the wrestling. Who knows how big the WWE would have become if Austin didn't have a bad neck? Austin and Hulk Hogan are in a league of their own when it comes to athletes who have revolutionized professional wrestling.

Cena, not so much.

Cena is the face of the WWE. He sells a lot of merchandise. He makes a lot of kids really happy. He has great entrance music. But, he's a stale character who hasn't really grown much in the last five years. He's more or less a mediocre rapper and mediocre wrestler with a great body, unparalleled work ethic, and he's an all-around good guy. He's everything Stone Cold is not. Austin is a brash, beer-drinking redneck who happens to be a really good wrestler and great talker on the microphone. Austin sold more merchandise than Cena. He sold out more arenas than Cena. Austin certainly has had far better matches that Cena. Stone Cold has wrestled most of the greats in this sport and before he retires for good, he should step inside the ring with Cena. We've seen Cena vs. the Rock. We've seen Cena vs. Triple H, Cena vs. Shawn Michaels, Cena vs. Randy Orton, etc. Now we need to see two of the WWE's all-time greats wrestle while Austin is still young enough to pull it off. If Cena vs. The Rock did great business, Cena vs. Austin could lift WrestleMania to above 1.25 million PPV buys. Check out the slideshow to understand why Stone Cold Steve Austin needs to return to the ring to face John Cena at WrestleMania.

Forget Cena's silly little raps. Stone Cold can sing Margaritaville on live television. Austin may be the best on the microphone in history. The first time Cena talks and Austin responds with a "What," Cena might as well go home. Austin would own him on the microphone.

What would be better than seeing the goody-two-shoes Cena covered in Coors Light?

3. Stone Cold Is A Far Better Wrestler Than The Rock

The Rock got to wrestle Cena twice at WrestleMania. Both of those matches weren't very good. Austin is 10-times the wrestler the Rock is and would carry Cena to one of his best matches ever.

2. Stone Cold Would Cut Some Good Promos On Vince McMahon Along The Way

There's no way Stone Cold could come back and not have some good promos with McMahon. McMahon vs. Austin might be the greatest feud of all-time. Before he got to Cena, Austin and McMahon could create the same chemistry that boosted the business in 1998. Just having Stone Cold in the ring makes everyone around him a lot better.

Who better than the Texas Rattlesnake to wipe that smug smile off of Cena's face? Cena was made perfectly for Stone Cold. Cena is a frat boy. Austin is good old-fashioned country boy. This is pro wrestling. Austin wins.
