Is WWE Survivor Series Worth Watching This Year?

The two main event matches announced so far for Survivor Series 2013 are disappointing.

Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena for the World Heavyweight title is the first match that I thought was underwhelming. These two already faced each other at the Hell in a Cell PPV and numerous times before in the past. It’s also predictable that Cena will win because Del Rio was champion for the majority of the year anyway. WWE should have let Damien Sandow face Cena. This would have been a fresh and new exciting feud to see.

The other match is Randy Orton vs. Big Show for the WWE Title. I don’t know how this came to be, but why is the 42-year old Big Show getting a title shot in 2013? I know Big Show is popular, but they should have let someone else have a go for the title. Not to mention we saw Orton and Big Show feud earlier this year already. This doesn’t count the many other times they’ve faced each other in the past 11 years or so.

Hopefully WWE officially announces more matches for Survivor Series 2013. At this rate, I doubt they will get a huge buyrate for the event. They’ve got no special wrestlers for the event either. The Rock is in Hollywood and Brock Lesnar won’t be back until early 2014.

It’s kind of sad that Daniel Bryan has been shafted because they felt he was responsible for the low buyrates for the past PPV events. I wonder who WWE would blame when the low Survivor Series buyrate comes in? I would be very surprised if Survivor Series 2013 is successful.
