Can The Miz Crawl Back To The Main Event?
The Miz was flopping as a babyface. Now that he has turned heel, will he be back in the main event scene?
He was on top of the WWE mountain in early 2011. He was the WWE Champion and even was in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII. Even though he was overshadowed by the Rock, he was still considered to be an important part of the company.
This all changed when CM Punk became more popular. the Miz lost the WWE Title and then faded into the distance. After he broke up with R-Truth in late 2011, his star began to fade even further. I don’t even remember a single thing he did in 2012. Maybe it was because the likes of CM Punk and Chris Jericho stole the spotlight off of him. They were better heels and also much better wrestlers.
In 2013, thr WWE decided to make the Miz a babyface. This didn’t really work either because fans never cheered for him. Even when Ric Flair tried to promote Miz, the fans weren’t buying it. The WWE felt he wasn’t cutting it as a babyface as they would book him in the pre-shows of PPV events instead of on the main card itself.
It will be interesting to see if the Miz can become a main event star again as a heel. It will be tough though, since there is a lot of new guys on the roster who are better talkers and better wrestlers. Not to mention, it looks like John Cena and Randy Orton will be champions for a long time.
