WWE: Making SmackDown A Live Show Would Be A Smart Move

Via Official WWE Facebook Page

Recent reports say that the WWE may be thinking about making SmackDown a live television event. For years, SmackDown has been recorded on Tuesday night, then aired that Friday. I, for one, think that it would be a great move for the company, especially since more Raw superstars are making appearances on SmackDown.

With the WWE Network coming sometime in the near future, the move to live television would only help the company on their way to a smooth launch for their network. It has yet to be determined whether Raw and SmackDown will be exclusive to the WWE Network, or whether they will remain where they are; I guess that will have a little to do with their current contracts with the stations.

The most obvious reason to make the change is so WWE fans will not have the option to read the spoilers from Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings, which takes away a lot of viewership from the show every week. I admit to being one of those fans who loves to check out the results a bit early. If they are there, then even the most hardcore wrestling junkies are going to want to know what happens. Go live, and this will not be a problem. It will instantly result in more people tuning in to see what happens next.

So, let’s all hope that the WWE goes with the decision of making SmackDown a live show. I am sure every superstar in the locker room will want to do the show live as well, as it adds to the excitement for everyone, including the WWE staff.
