What Does Batista’s Return Mean For The WWE’s Wrestlemania 30 Plans?

Via WWE Official Facebook Page

Within the past 24 hours, news slipped through the cracks about Batista returning to the WWE, after his named appeared in advertisements for a live event in Las Vegas on February 14, 2014. This all but confirms that the company will be using him in large capacity at Wrestlemania 30. The WWE Universe should be very excited about his return. It makes it easier for everyone to accept the fact that we won’t be blessed with The Rock‘s presence this year. Batista’s return has been rumored for a while now. He’s obviously a big name who will immediately boost the ratings.

The speculation is that Batista will return sometime before the 2014 Royal Rumble. If he wins, he’ll have a shot at the title come Wrestlemania. I doubt if the WWE will put him in the title race. I respect him and all but there are better matches out there. There’s been rumblings that the winner of the Royal Rumble could challenge the Undertaker‘s streak rather than get a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Batista could be just the guy to do so; making for a monumental matchup between the Beast and the Phenom.

If those plans don’t come through, then there’s another beast who’d be a great opponent for Batista at the biggest show of the year — a man by the name of Brock Lesnar. This would be the best matchup and good enough event to be the main event at WM30. Imagine these two animals going toe-to-toe in an extreme rules match — that would make for some awesome television. No matter what the WWE decides to do with Batista, it’ll be hard for them to drop the ball on this one.

The two matches I mentioned above would be the best choices, but there are plenty more suitable opponents for the Animal at Wrestlemania 30. We’ll have to see whether he’ll return as a face or a heel in order to know where everything will be headed. Although, I do believe it is in the company’s best interest to bring him back as a face, even if he does go up against the Undertaker and especially if he faces off against Lesnar. With Batista’s return, WWE fans have every reason to be excited about what’s coming in the near future.
