Daniel Bryan turned into “Daniel Wyatt” for only two weeks. What was the point of him turning heel in the first place?
I knew Bryan wasn’t a full heel, but I expected this storyline to have at least lasted until the Royal Rumble PPV. I predicted that Bryan would get his revenge on the Wyatt Family during the Royal Rumble match itself.
It just seemed so anticlimactic that Bryan was only a part of the team for two short weeks. The storyline would have had a bigger payoff if it lasted longer and if Bryan surprised everyone at the Royal Rumble or an event closer to WrestleMania XXX. If I was booking the show, I would have had Bryan face off against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX to end their feud once and for all.
Now, none of that will happen as Bryan turned on the Wyatt Family this week on Raw. I felt the storyline could have had more of an impact had it dragged on for at least a month or more. However, this will please many of the fans that hated seeing Bryan work as a “heel”.
The fact that Bryan turned his back on the Wyatts so quickly could be a clue that WWE has other plans for him in the near future. This could mean that Bryan has a strong chance of winning the Royal Rumble and might compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XXX. He is, after all, the most popular current wrestler on the roster right now, and fans have wanted him to get his revenge on Randy Orton for many months.
