The Shield in Weekly 6-Man Tags Are Getting Old

Courtesy of Official WWE Facebook Page

Week after week, both on Raw and Smackdown, we get a weekly six-man tag team match that features all three members of The Shield. It’s almost like that is The Shields’ marquee match. They have made it famous for months. I am a fan of not only The Shield, but the six-man tag matches themselves if they, The Shield, are included in them. They have a style that not only fits the match, but they perfect it at the same time.

Six-man tags have been around for some time, but the question remains: Are they getting old? After a while, they get repetitive. Especially if you watch both Raw and Smackdown on a weekly basis. The Shield is great, but the days of them tagging up are limited with the highly rumored split within the group.

Should we enjoy these matches or should we demand a new style of match. If it was up to me, I would prefer a nice mix of six-man and regular tag team style matches.

It gives the viewer something different instead of the same old stuff that you see on a weekly basis, and twice a week.

Please remember that the Shield made the six-man tag famous as of late in WWE. However, they did not create the match in WWE.

I like the six-man tags but everything can be overdone. That being said
I’d be more inclined to complain if they weren’t consistently
entertaining if not great matches. The six-man tag main event from last
week’s raw to determine who went in the chamber was particularly outstanding. I think as long as the matches get over with the crowd they’ll continue to use them, but it does seem like there have been a lot of them lately…
