WWE Changes Major WrestleMania XXX Storyline

Storylines are a very fluent thing in the world of the WWE and professional wrestling as a whole. Storylines are something that can seem like the best idea one week and dropped like a bad habit the next. Even though the turnover of storylines is high, it’s not every day that the WWE nixes one that involves their high profile talent.

According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE has decided to change the direction of The Authority storyline heading into WrestleMania XXX.

The original rumors regarding The Authority called for there to be a power struggle over control of the WWE. This scenario would have eventually led to Vince McMahon making his TV return to feud with Triple H and his daughter Stephanie McMahon. From there it was speculated that it would culminate in a match between Triple H and Vince or a match in which the two handpicked wrestlers to fight on their behalf.

The one major driving force behind this rumor was the fact that Stephanie was being announced to the ring as the owner of the WWE. This special way of announcing her to the ring went on for weeks at end. Recently, Stephanie is no longer being called the owner of the WWE. Aside from that, there has been no indication that Vince is going to be returning in any TV capacity prior to WrestleMania XXX or anytime thereafter.

It would seem that the current plan is for Triple H to face Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXX. However, that could obviously all change if CM Punk were to make his WWE return sometime in the near future. The WWE could have had a bevy of reasons to shift the direction of the Authority storyline; ultimately, it might have been the best choice. The only thing that the original storyline could have truly offered would have been the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin. If Vince had brought back Austin to fight on his behalf, it would have been more than worthwhile.

Moving forward the WWE Universe will just have to wait and see if a Triple H and Bryan match comes to fruition or if the WWE has something else up their sleeve.
