WWE: NXT ArRIVAL Is The Show To Watch On Thursday
The show will be headlined by three matches. Bo Dallas will defend his NXT Championship against Adrian Neville in a Ladder Match, Emma will challenge Paige for the NXT Women’s Championship, and Sami Zayn will take on Cesaro.
Dallas has held the NXT Championship since defeating Big E Langston on May 23, 2013 (the show did not air until June 12). Dallas is the brother of current WWE superstar Bray Wyatt and the son of Mike Rotunda, who wrestled in WWE under the name Irwin R. Schyster in the mid-1990s. Dallas is only 23 years old and he has a bright future in this industry.
The same could be said of his opponent, Adrian Neville. Although slight of build at 5 foot 10 and 194 pounds, the English-born Neville is an exciting high-flyer who has honed his craft in wrestling promotions all over the world. They don’t call him “The Man That Gravity Forgot” for nothing.
Paige, another English-born grappler, became the first ever NXT Women’s Champion on Jun. 20 (aired Jul. 24) when she defeated Emma in the finals of the NXT Women’s Championship Tournament. Emma will get her chance at redemption on Thursday night.
Paige comes from a wrestling family. Both her parents and her two older brothers are professional wrestlers, and the family runs their own promotion called the World Association of Wrestling. Paige is only 21 years of age.
Perhaps the most fascinating match scheduled for NXT ArRIVAL pits Cesaro against Sami Zayn. Ring of Honor fans will recognize Zayn as the former El Generico, an immensely popular masked competitor who wrestled in ROH from 2005-2012. Zayn, a Quebec native, is without exaggeration one of the best pro wrestlers in the world. His speed, timing, technical prowess and high-flying ability are among the best this author has ever seen in person.
The last contest between Zayn and Cesaro is held in high esteem by many fans. Their two-out-of-three-falls match (we need more of these!) from Aug. 21 was considered a match-of-the-year contender for 2013. Buckle-up folks, because these two great athletes are going to give it their all on Thursday night.
If you’re a subscriber to WWE Network you won’t want to miss this show. The future of WWE is on display for all to see, and something tells me it’s gonna be one heck of a night. I would also recommend catching the pre-show at 7:30, which includes panel guests Bret Hart, Kevin Nash and Paul Heyman. What a crew that is!
