There has been a lot of talk that the Chicago crowd for Raw will hijack the show. Is CM Punk coming back to save Vince McMahon’s hide?
A twitter page has been created specifically to rally up fans to “hijack” Raw to let the WWE know how they feel. Their goal is to protest against WWE’s recent booking decisions. Fans are disappointed that Daniel Bryan is not in the WrestleMania XXX main event, while others are annoyed with the way that WWE has treated Punk recently. Not to mention the company ignoring Punk altogether since he left and banning any signs of him (literally) from their shows.
Since Punk has left WWE, fans have been very vocal, but not extreme enough to ruin the show. All they have done so far is chant “CM Punk” loudly for a few seconds, but that’s about it. With Raw going to Punk’s hometown of Chicago, the crowd is likely to be tens times worse.
Punk seriously needs to attend the show at least once to silence the crowd. If he does not show up, they are likely to do things we have never seen before from a wrestling crowd. I doubt there will be any riots if Punk doesn’t attend the show, but I’m sure WWE and its wrestlers will be nervous about how the crowd is going to react if Punk is not there.
The recent rumor to make the rounds on the internet is that Punk will attend Raw in Chicago. If that happens, I’m sure McMahon must have convinced him to come. Some speculate that Stone Cold Steve Austin must have talked with Punk as well. Austin walked out on the WWE in a similar fashion back in 2002. He mentioned it was his biggest mistake he’s ever made. Punk could come back to make amends the same way Austin has done.
As of right now, we all have to wait and see if Punk really does return to Raw in Chicago.
